Bus stop
A simple steel structure of a bus stop. The construction consists of four columns and a cantilever roof frame. For the column and the roof beams, the open I-sections were used together with channel U-shape profiles, while the wind bracing and stiffening members were formed by tubular CHS sections. There are welded joints, connecting plates, and gusset plates used to join the structural members and mortar joint base plates anchored to separate concrete blocks.
The global structural model was created in the SCIA Engineer FEA application and then imported to IDEA StatiCa Checkbot. where all the steel connections were designed and checked in the IDEA StatiCa Connection app. Exporting selected connection models to the IFC format (Industry Foundation Classes) enables importing connection designs into any CAD software.
The workflow is described in the article Complete connection design workflow - from FEA to IFC and CAD.
