The Arch Railway Bridge
Jetetice | Czech Republic
The reinforced concrete arch railway bridge was designed to cross over the Orlik water dam on the Vltava River. This recent project of SUDOP PRAHA is remarkable not only for the complexity of construction typical of these kinds of bridges but also because its span of 156 m makes it the longest of its kind in the Czech Republic. The elegant structure will, thus, become an iconic feature for the entire valley.

Designing a structure of this large scale entailed several typical challenges. These were solved by multiple tools, and IDEA StatiCa BIM and IDEA StatiCa RCS also played a significant role.

Prestressed highway concrete bridge
Prague | Czech Republic
A new 12.2km long section of the motorway is being constructed on the outskirts of Prague that will connect the D0 ring road (one of the most significant transport structures in the Czech Republic) with the D10 and D11 motorways, as well as many other major roads connecting the capital to its surrounding areas.
A bridge was required at the second-most-important crossroads of this section of the ring road. Therefore, the expertise of Structural Engineer Jan Lamparsky of AFRY CZ was enlisted to ensure it would be delivered successfully.
