Column anchoring using connecting plate

Column footing with a connecting plate anchored into the concrete substructure is one of the most common connections engineers are asked to design and code-check.

It can all be modeled in 3 minutes and 4 operations: Instead of the standard base plate operation, use two stiffening plates and apply the anchors and connecting plate on them. For connecting plate operations, you can choose between cap plate(s) or a notch in the member.

The model was created in the IDEA StatiCa Connection app.
